12.Progressive Infotech :Exploring New Horizons

Managed services helped Progressive to post an impressive 32 percent growth in the last fiscal. Now the company is all set to expand geographically and will also increase its headcount in the tech support area

For Progressive Infotech a company known for technology integration and managed services in India, growth came largely due to its overall value proposition and geographic expansion.

Progressive Infotech registered a Rs 110 crore turnover in 2006-07. Now it has plans to raise this momentum, and is targeting a growth of 70 percent for the next fiscal. The fact that the company has registered significant growth is evident in the light of its quarter-wise revenue break up. Progressive saw 17 percent contribution to overall revenues in the first quarter of last fiscal, which rose to 32 percent in the fourth quarter.

The company opened new offices in Hyderabad and Chennai recently, and is working on ways to expand its foothold in the southern region. It is now present in more than 100 locations across India. The company also registered a significant growth in the western region with 20 percent of this revenue coming from Mumbai.

30 percent of Progressive's revenues for the FY '06-07 came from its new customers such as NDPC, Aviva, Dabur, etc. For the next fiscal, Progressive is looking to increase its headcount, especially in the tech support area. This is largely due to the fact that the company is concentrating on existing projects revolving around system integration, infrastructure management and other deployment services.

This apart, Progressive is also trying to garner more revenues from the western region and is expecting that the revenue contribution from North will go down, while that of West will shoot up.
