RASHI PERIPHERALS: On an expansion spree

Saturday, September 23, 2006

The employee strength has more than doubled from 260 to 550. Eventually having a strong support arm is pre-requisite for networking. Research and development has also seen a significant rise in headcount to 12 from seven

Rashi peripherals had a whopping 83 percent YoY growth in FY 2005-2006. After taking distribution for Netgear last year, going a step ahead they added one more brand to their kitty. Rashi Peripherals was appointed as the national distributor for Senao Equipments, an outdoors wireless solution provider, for the entire range of indoor and outdoor wireless solutions.

CEO: Suresh Pansari
Highlights
  • Strengthening of networking focus by adding Senao brand

  • Sizeable increase in number of branches across the country

  • Slightly lagging in eastern region with only 12 percent revenue being generated

  • Double the employee headcount

Also one of the significant parameters for growth was the increase in the number of branches from 36 to 43 in just one year. The organization saw almost two fold growth in the number of employees joining in the last financial year with majority of the figures surging in the areas that clearly points out their focus. Shifting from their old office in a unique house to a swanky new place at Dhantak Plaza speaks volumes about the growth Rashi has seen and is confident of continuing to do so.

After making it clear that networking will be the buzzword at Rashi Peripherals their next priority seems to be technical support and customer care. The employee strength has more than doubled from 260 to 550. Eventually having a strong support arm is pre-requisite for networking. Research and development has also seen a significant rise in headcount to 12 from seven. The company is seeing an overall growth across as the administrative employee strength has also seen a steep rise in the number of professionals.

The new products added are HP workstations and laptops. They are already strong with their channel reach by having 500 active channel partners. The coming year will see an increase in the number of Rashi branches and consequently widening the reach across the country. More branches enabling deeper penetration is also one of the future planning strategy.

Value addition being the buzzword in every industry Rashi has also decided to make value-added distribution to give cutting edge over its competitors. They also have their own full fledge sales force, which they term as techno sales force of around 15 people all over India. Only 12 percent revenue comes from the eastern region.

The company won awards for best distributorship awards from HP, Altec Lansing, XFX and Netgear.
