Embee Software: Three-digit growth
 
Marking its debut in the Silver Club, Kolkata-based Embee Software is a low profile, but high growth company. It is one of the few companies within the Silver Club that managed to grow revenues by 103% in 2004-05.

The last fiscal was a great one for Embee Software, which grew by 103% in 2004-05 to post revenues of Rs 59 crore. It added more than 150 new customers in the last fiscal and retained 85% (in terms of numbers and volume) business from its existing customer.

Services contributed Rs 3 crore to the overall turnover, up from Rs 2 crore, the previous fiscal.

For its good performance, HP awarded Embee as the 'Best Enterprise Partner in East'. Intuit too acknowledged its efforts by awarding it as their 'Best Partner for Innovation' internationally. It has 115 in-house employees and more than 200 employees placed out at client site. The eastern region contributed 59% to over all revenues, followed by the western area at 41%.

The company has identified its core customer verticals and focused entirely on them. Enterprises netted 70% of revenues, while SMB made up for 27%. It missed the government business, which contributed less than 1%.

Embee did some very significant projects last fiscal including the one for Tata Steel where its signed a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (MEA) for three years totaling to Rs 16 crore to be paid in three years in equal installments. Embee takes pride in the fact that this is the first major EA contract won by Microsoft in the manufacturing vertical. It also implemented a similar MEA for Hexaware, costing Rs 8 crore.

Embee also provided HP Itanium servers and storage worth Rs 3 crore to Geographical Survey of India for portal development. It worked with Tata AIG and WNS for deployment of world-class help desk and asset management solution across 5,000 desktops. It also won a multiple contract from SMB customers for business continuity products and solutions.

Embee is in the business of selling IT infrastructure products and solution and offers its customer business continuity products and solution from HP and IBM, Volume licensing from Microsoft, Desktop Management solution from Intuit (Track-It!), Network integration services and products, Facility Management services and provide skilled manpower resource in the area of SAP, Microsoft, Oracle and IBM Lotus technologies.
