New Delhi-based PC Solutions (PSPL) saw its revenues go up by a modest 24% to touch Rs 103 crore in 2004-05. It worked extensively in the SMB segment adding more than 200 new customers last fiscal, who contributed about 30% of the total sales revenue.

PSPL did a turnkey security and storage deployment project worth Rs 1.5 crore for a major refinery in India. It also undertook migration services of Domain and Mail messaging for leading Japanese electronic company across 15 locations in India.

Starting as a third party maintenance focused organization, it offers a good combination of several services today. It has actually been able to increase its services revenue by over 125% and bag more than 60 customers in the corporate segment.

PSPL showed good results last year due to implementation of some big projects successfully. One of them was for a leading pharmaceutical company, which basically was migration with enterprise security deployment. The entire migration from Microsoft 2002 to Microsoft 2003 was implemented by PSPL and the project was valued at Rs 3.5 crore. The very unique thing about this project implementation is that the entire implementation was done on PKI infrastructure.

It has also done a security suite deployment project with a leading multinational Bank. This was first ever deployment of a security solution for the company in Asia Pacific region and involved the deployment of Citrix Access Suite. Executed in Gurgaon, the size of the project was $35,000.

The solution provider has competencies in solutions like security, infrastructure management, optimization of current infrastructure, mail messaging, on NT and Linux and disaster recovery. However, in 2004, the additions made on this front were disaster recovery management solution and high-end security solutions.

PSPL has a clear strategy to upscale its workforce and to motivate them for taking up training programs on regular basis. Expenditure on training and certification of staffers was over Rs 120 lakh in last three months. In addition to this, the company has strategic alliance with Doors International for all the training and certification work for employees. A minimum of six days training is mandatory for every employee.

With the increase in sales, PC Solutions also managed to beef up its vendor portfolio. It won over 14 awards from several OEMS, including some at the Asia Pacific levels. The company also won the coveted 'Most Successful Solution Provider' from DQ Channels last year.

The headcount for the company has touched 565 and it added approximately 135 people to its rolls for this year. With support locations at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai and Chennai, its Delhi office still remains at the helm when it comes to core activities.

While PC Solutions has been able to grow itself quite sizable in the services segment – finding right kind of people has been a challenge for the company.
