SILVER CLUB RANK (2003-04): Newcomer

STRENGTHS
l Good distribution network for delivery on time
CHALLLENGES
l Moved out of cost-to-cost business with low margins
l Greater focus on value products and hence healthier margins is a big challenge

For Sri Durga Computech, fiscal 2004-05 was all about growth-both in terms of numbers as well as in terms of business. With a single-minded focus on becoming a regional distributor for a variety of products, Sri Durga forged forth and attempted many new tie-ups in the last fiscal.

Most significant of the lot were those with Sony and AOC. While the organization did not discontinue any of the existing tie-ups or alliances, the company seemed to have decreased its business focus as far as distribution of HP products was concerned.

It recorded a Rs 13 crore increment in the revenues in 2004-05. With a total revenue of Rs 63 crore, it looked into geographical expansion of its base as well. Having already had operations from Chennai besides Bangalore, Sri Durga began a new distribution center at Hyderabad with a man power of four people. Currently, the organization is all set to begin operations at another center in Mysore, which is likely to open by the end of this month. This center too is likely to have
manpower of four.

As of now, it operates with a total manpower strength of 60 employees (all branches included).
