Mumbai-based Ontrack Solutions grew 57% to touch revenue of Rs 43 crore purely out of providing IT solutions in 2003-04. While IBM hardware contributed mainly to Ontrack's revenue, it was the solutions business which made significant presence in its business.

The company continued to be recognized as a premium partner for IBM with a lot of business done on Tivoli and Lotus. It was a year for consolidation of its image as a Tivoli and Lotus expert in the solutions providing business.

Another area which fueled Ontrack's growth was network security solutions. The company leveraged on its alliance with Checkpoint, Nokia, Trend Micro and ISS to offer complete network security solutions. It also tied up with US-based WebSense, an Internet content management solutions company, to complete it basket of offerings.

Having established itself in Western India with offices in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad and Baroda, Ontrack ventured in to the southern market by opening sales office in Chennai.

Revenue for Ontrack came from a mixed stream of customer verticals, which included finance, digital media and manufacturing. Finance remained a potential segment for most solutions it provides, while digital media and manufacturing also looked up.

For the next fiscal, Ontrack has set a target to achieve at least Rs 55 crore with an increased focus on service revenue.
