STRENGTHS
l Consistent growth over the years
l Strong focus on integration
WEAKNESS
l Did not capitalize on service, with revenues remaining stagnant at Rs 2 crore
l Concentration on projects in northern India

After a slow growth in 2002-03, Targus Technologies saw its revenues more than double up last fiscal. The company grew by 120% and clocked revenues of Rs 42 crore in 2003-04, as compared to Rs 20 crore in 2002-03. Storage clocked Rs 8 crore to this figure. Surprisingly, Targus's service revenues remained stagnant at Rs 2 crore in 2003-04, which shows that it has yet to capitalize this burgeoning market.

Targus managed to leapfrog into the Silver Club, for the first time, because of its focus on government agencies like the Ministry of Home, Ministry of Road and Transport and Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Another contributor to Targus's growth in 2003-03 was its involvement with enterprise solutions in the high-end segment. It was appointed as a Sify Gold partner and was also awarded the best overall partner in North by HP India. last fiscal.

Targus executed several major projects, which accelerated its performance. Bharti and HFCL were among the biggest clients that it bagged apart from Spice Telecom, TCIL, C-Dot, Lifetree and BT Global. For Bharti alone, it did projects worth Rs 12 crore last fiscal, including the telecom major's Colored Ring Back Tone project. This called for the supply of 39 servers, loaded with Linux Enterprise and Professional platform.
