SEJUTRONICS: Still A D-Link Loyalist

Working hand-in-hand with D-Link has put Sejutronics in a different league altogether. Spared of the price war its counterparts play, Sejutronics is happy with the small but strong channel partner network it works with.

STRENGTHS
l Focused player in networking
l Spared of unhealthy competition
WEAKNESS
l Stuck with few brands
l Limited scope for expansion as operates within western region

Sejutronics, the only distributor for D-Link's entire range of products in Mumbai, saw its revenue going up by 15% from Rs 55 crore to Rs 65 crore in 2003-04.

A lot better than the flat year it witnessed previously. According to Prakash Mody, the company has not just managed an increase turnover, but it has made healthy bottomlines as well.

Sejutronics commitment to remain loyal to D-Link has paid of well. Every addition to D-Link's product range gives Sejutronics' portfolio a boost.

Last year saw good business coming in from D-Link's joint venture products - Gigabyte and Foundry. Gigabyte motherboards were the best selling in terms of volumes.

In the networking products, it managed to build an exclusive channel network of core solutions providers and tier-2 dealers.

With D-Link's support, Sejutronics has provided cost effective solutions to many big customers.

While the company directly doesn't do systems integration it played a major role as a product fulfilling company through its network integrators.

Some of the major implementations include large corporate houses, hospitals and educational institutions like L&T, IIT, Mumbai University, Lilavati Hospital, Reliance Group, Indian Railways, to name a few.

Currently, Sejutronics carried a complete Range of Active and Passive Products including LAN, WAN and structured cabling products.

The company also built a dedicated team of sales and support professionals to provide the much-needed support to its channel partners.

Last fiscal, Sejutronics tied up with Bangalore-based startup Visesh Inc, the Indian representative for the US company, SaafNet Canada Inc. Visesh is the sole distributor for SaafNet's Alpha Shield, a hardware security firewall in the country and appointed Sejutronics as one its resellers in the western market. It also has 700 resellers, 350 assemblers and 300 VARs.

Sejutronics also worked with D-Link India to set up wireless LAN system at ICICI Infotech's Akruti branch, which is one of the main branches in the bank's network. The project used products like the advanced wireless access points from D-Link DWL-900AP+ supporting data rates upto 22 Mbps, along with PCI cards DWL-520+ and suitable D-Link switches. All the products were supplied by Sejutronics.

The distributor expects wireless networking to really take off, and is counting on D-Link to help it cash on this upcoming boom. It added a series of the vendor's wireless network products for small and medium enterprises to its product kitty, last fiscal.
