Intex Technologies is in the process of expanding its service centers across the four regions and is coming up with its second regional service center in Ahmedabad in the next two months. The new center will look after the western market. Later the company plans to move towards New Delhi and Kolkata and open service centers there too. Intex is also increasing the number of its service centers to 200 from the current 97, thereby adding over 100 centers by the end of FY 2008-09.

Intex will be investing Rs 3.5 crore on its service and support strengthening process.

70 percent of the up-coming service centers will be owned by the partners and the remaining 30 percent will be company owned. By decentralizing the service centers, Intex is aiming to provide hassle free service and support issue to all corners of the country especially in the B and C-class cities.

“Our main objective is to offer smooth and hassle free service and support to the end-customers throughout India. As we have robust presence in the B and C-class cities, where the service is still an issue for the end-users, we want to eliminate that factor and provide qualitative support,” shared Krishna Verma, VP-Service Operations, Intex Technologies.

Stating further on the service centers expansion plans, Verma explained that as Intex has expanded its product range over the last few years it was imperative to revamp the service and support zone so that the customers build loyalty over the brand.

“If the service is not in place, it becomes difficult to gain trust and loyalty among the end-users as well as the channel partners. One has to bend the policies according to the market needs that provides best market position,” he added.

According to an Intex official, the company is eventually planning to decentralize the power of operation by setting up four head offices in different zones and the regional operation will then be handled by the respective locations.

“We are targeting to empower the service level at satellite locations which is being taken care of by the branch service centers which is then taken care either by the state service center or the head office. By having well placed regional service centers, all the branch service centers will be taken care of and this would help us in organizing the service facilities in a much smooth manner.”

Currently the company has 97 service centers across the country out of which 62 are company owned and 35 by the franchisees.

Once the service centers are set-up, Intex will impart training to its team as well as the channel partners who will have franchisees for the service centers.
